It boasts two large bedrooms, two sitting rooms – one with a dining area – and two marble bathrooms complete with Jacuzzi baths, televisions, separate walk-in showers, Penhaligon’s and Etro toiletries. The Penthouse is beautifully decorated with figured silk wall coverings, bespoke black lacquered furniture, Murano glass chandeliers and original art. As everywhere within the St. James’s, there is complimentary Wi-Fi, with the addition of DVD players, flat screen televisions and iPod docking stations.

The defining feature of The Penthouse, though, must be the private roof terrace offering 50sqm of outside space with panoramic views of the London skyline. The private roof terrace – a rarity in London hotels – is the perfect space for entertaining friends or relaxing with a glass of champagne at the end of the day.
